Hi, I’m Lexi! I married my best friend Timothy on September 2nd, 2017. Time has sure flown by since then. Just a few months after our marriage I quit my soul-sucking management job, started working as a flight attendant for Southwest Airlines, and convinced Timothy to move from our hometown of Charlotte, North Carolina, to the fabulous Las Vegas, Nevada!
Despite both being cat-people we ended up with two dogs, Lily (2) and Oliver (1). Lily is an aussie and Oliver is an aussie mix so they are some high energy pups! We love them to pieces and one of the hardest parts of travelling is leaving them behind. Despite that we have so far travelled to 21 countries together and several more on our own. Timothy saw all 50 US states before he turned 25 and I (being painfully competitive) am on track to see my last three before I turn 24.
After my freshman year I dropped out of High Point University to work at Disney World in Orlando, Florida. That is where I caught the travel bug and met some of my best friends! The first time I went out of country was on a missions trip with my church to Moldova and Romania. Since then my travels have primarily been to see and experience the variety of our world and human culture. I am an INFP, and I’ve always been a big reader and writer. My favorite books are Pride and Prejudice and Gone Girl, which are brilliant. I also have an OBSESSION with the life of Ernest Hemingway and his four wives -particularly the spectacular Martha Gellhorn, in everything an inspiration.
Timothy also dropped out of his school, UNC Chapel Hill, after one year. He, however, went directly over to UNC Charlotte and proceeded to graduate in only two more years with a bachelors in Software and Information Systems. He has now been working as the Director of Tech Support for FANDOM for nine years, and since he is able to work from home it complements my lifestyle as a flight attendant perfectly. He is also a pro racing statistician, creating, hosting, and developing thethirdturn.com. He’s also the most patient, supportive, intelligent person I’ve ever known.
This blog works as both a way for us to remember our adventures together and share all the best tips, tricks, and experiences we have on our travels with you. So thank you for stopping by, and don’t forget to subscribe so you can continue to follow all the places we go and glean inspiration for your own adventures!
